    Free to host yourself

    Matomo On-Premise is free under the GPL. Highseat is hosted only.

    Heatmaps, recordings and tests

    Heatmaps, session recordings, A/B tests, form analytics and a tag manager. Highseat has none of these.

    Imports and email reports

    Matomo imports your Google Analytics history and sends email reports. Highseat imports only Plausible and has no email reports yet.

Can I import my Matomo data?

No. Highseat imports only Plausible exports. Ask Matomo for a raw data export before you cancel, and run both scripts for a week so the two overlap.

Is Highseat cookieless by default?

Yes. The script sets no cookies and honours Global Privacy Control. Visitors are counted with a hash that rotates every day. There is nothing to configure.

Do I need a higher plan for funnels or revenue?

No. Every plan has every feature. A plan is a monthly event allowance and nothing else.

How do events compare with Matomo hits?

Both count a pageview as one. Matomo also counts each download, outbound link and site search as a hit. Highseat counts a download or an outbound link as an event once you turn that tracking on.

Can I keep Matomo running while I test?

Yes. Both scripts can run on the same page, so you can compare a week of numbers before you cancel.

What happens after the 14-day trial?

Pick a plan to keep going. Without one, collection runs for 14 more days and stops, and your sites are deleted after 60 days.
